Drug charges filed against man, woman after home search

| May 21, 2019 | Drug Charges

People’s lives and priorities can change drastically when they face criminal charges. If a person is accused of drug charges, his or her main thoughts may revolve around effectively defending against those accusations. Making this a priority is wise as a person’s defense could have a substantial effect on the outcome of a case.

Two individuals in Tennessee are likely focusing strongly on their criminal defense options after recently being taken into custody. According to reports, authorities carried out a search warrant on a residence where a man, woman and two children lived. It was unclear what initially gave cause for the warrant, but nonetheless, authorities searched the home and purportedly discovered marijuana, Valium pills, methamphetamine, hydrocodone pills, digital scales and a loaded handgun.

The incident resulted in both the man and woman being taken into custody. The 36-year-old woman is facing charges for possession of methamphetamine, hydrocodone, Valium and marijuana — all with the intent to resell. The 38-year-old man is facing the same possession with intent to resell allegations along with possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony and other related charges. It was noted that two children in the home were being attended to by the Department of Children’s Services.

The man and woman accused in this case will certainly want to mitigate the potentially negative outcomes of the drug charges as best as possible. Creating and presenting meaningful defense presentations may allow them to work toward that goal. In order to understand their best available options, they may want to gain information from local Tennessee legal resources.
