3 people facing drug charges in Tennessee

| Nov 20, 2018 | Drug Charges

Though facing criminal charges is a serious situation, people accused of crimes do not have to think that these charges will end their lives. Certainly, drug charges can have lasting impacts, but individuals also have the opportunity to defend against the allegations. In some cases, the defense presentations could have beneficial effects on their cases.

Three individuals in Tennessee will undoubtedly want to approach their situations with an open mind. Reports stated that two women and one man were taken into custody on drug-related allegations. One woman is charged with possession of meth for resale in a park zone, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling. The other woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth for resale in a park zone. The man had a warrant for his arrest from another state for drug distribution.

Police were reportedly alerted to the individuals after receiving a call about possible drug activity taking place at a hotel. Authorities gained permission to search the suspected room and allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, imitation drugs, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and about $30,000 in cash. It was unclear whether the individuals were inside the room at the time of the search or whether they were apprehended later.

In order to address the drug charges brought against them, it would be wise for each person to keep an open mind about their legal options. If available, a plea bargain may appeal to one or more of the individuals, or other defense strategies may seem more appropriate for their circumstances. In any case, it is important that they understand their options and choose the routes with which they feel most comfortable as their cases move through the Tennessee criminal justice system.
