A spur of the moment decision could have lasting consequences. When a person feels threatened, he or she may take steps in the heat of the moment that would not have occurred otherwise. Unfortunately, the actions taken could potentially have outcomes that lead a person to end up in need of a meaningful criminal defense.

One man in Tennessee will undoubtedly want to defend against the allegations recently brought against him. Reports stated that a store clerk allegedly shot a 17-year-old boy after the teen stole a beer from the man’s store. The clerk purportedly followed the teenager out of the store, attempted to stop him and then reportedly fired a shot. The clerk apparently did not contact police about the incident.

A couple of days later, the teen’s body was found approximately 100 yards from the store after a woman noticed the body next to her house and called police. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh. As a result, the store clerk is now facing charges for first-degree murder.

It was unclear how authorities came to suspect the clerk.

Murder charges can leave anyone feeling shaken. These allegations can come with some of the most substantial punishments in relation to a criminal act. This Tennessee man will certainly want to find out useful information relating to the charges brought against him and regarding his options for creating and presenting a criminal defense. In order to ensure that the knowledge he gains is reliable, he may wish to utilize local legal resources.
