Being accused of intoxicated driving can lead to a person facing DUI charges. Additional charges can be brought against a person if they are accused of having caused an accident that caused injuries or property damage during their alleged intoxicated driving.
A person can be given serious punishments if he or she is convicted of charges related to an alleged DUI accident. A conviction on such charges can also lead to a person facing consequences outside of formal legal punishments. One such consequence are reputation impacts. Thus, being accused of having been involved in a DUI accident can be an extremely serious allegation for an individual to face.
Recently, a DUI case has arisen in Tennessee. The case involves an incident that reportedly occurred in the Nashville area last Friday.
Reportedly, early that morning, a woman got into her car after allegedly having been involved in a fight at a bar. Allegedly, the woman then started driving. It has been alleged that the woman was intoxicated at the time.
According to authorities, the woman then got into an accident. Specifically, it has been alleged that the woman crashed into the pillar of a building and two cars that had people in them.
Reportedly, this accident did not cause anyone to get seriously hurt. The accident did, however, reportedly cause property damage.
The woman allegedly did not remain at the scene after the accident. Authorities reportedly eventually found and arrested the woman. She is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident, property damage and DUI in relation to the incident. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.
