Two Teens Charged with Weekend Murder of Southeast Shelby County Man

Two teens have been charged with first degree murder for the shooting death of John Anthony Baker of Southeastern Shelby County earlier in November. The two teens, Kenneth Spencer and Kwane Morris Jr., were arrested on November 13. The two teens ventured to the Pinnacle Point subdivision with the intent of shooting a man over a dispute. In the process of shooting a gun at several men in a parked car, one bullet went through a house and into the dining room of Baker, hitting him in the head. Baker was found at 2am by his son, still in the dining room chair. Baker's car and a nearby phone booth also had bullet holes in them.

Both Morris and Spencer are facing first degree murder charges and could face life in prison. The two teens will be tried as adults because Spencer is 18 and Morris is 19 years old. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says that this is still an open case and more arrests could be coming. Baker is a father of three.
