Gas Station Employee Arrested for Setting Store on Fire

A Knoxville man has been arrested and charged with arson, among other charges, for setting fire to the gas station he works at. The gas station is located at 3644 Sevierville Pike at the Kenjo Market. Shane Bradley Wyrick, 19, was arrested on Monday November 17. The fire call came into the Knoxville Fire Department at 5:30am on the 17 of November. Wyrick set the fire to the gas station to hide various thefts that were taking place in the gas station. Arson investigators claim that the fire did only minor damage to the gas station store.

Wyrick is being charged with aggravated arson, weapons charges and theft charges. Wyrick is receiving aggravated arson charges because there were customers in the store. The aggravated part of the charge is added to the sentence because the customers could have been seriously injured or even killed. No injuries were reported involving the customers, other employees or to Wyrick himself. Wyrick will be facing anywhere from five to ten years in jail for his actions and because he is facing multiple charges which will bring about multiple sentences.
